Postdoc position available!
We have a PostDoc position available to study novel prokaryotic Argonaute s of which function and mechanisms remain uncharted. The project will be co-supervised by Prof. dr. John van der Oost and Daan C. Swarts. We are looking for a motivated candidate with a strong background in the field and/or experience with the required techniques (see below).
Candidate requirements (essential)
- Holds a PhD degree (or will obtain one soon)
- Has experience in FPLC-based protein purification and in protein biochemistry
- Acts well both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team
- Has full professional English proficiency
- Has a proven and strong track record in academic research in the above mentioned field(s), as evident from PhD publications or preprints.
- Has a strong drive to develop as a scientist
The ideal candidate
- Has experience in structural biology (X-ray crystallography or cryoEM)
- Has experience with microbiology/bacteriophage experiments
